Sussy Cazalet at Tristan Hoare Gallery
Sussy Cazalet has long been one of my favourite artists. After years of phenomenal craftsmanship designing furniture and rugs , she has currently found her resting place in these serene, semi-abstract wall hangings. I was excited to visit her hotly anticipated latest exhibition at the Tristan Hoare Gallery.
The warmth of her earthy palette, punctuated with rich blues (inspired from 14C frescoes in Arezzo), combine landscapes of our vast natural world with subtle influences of mid-century design. Each piece is meticulously handwoven in the finest, organic hand-dyed wools and silk, harmonising true craftsmanship with a deep sensitivity to place and form.
